Det Bush säger om Iran...

... skulle lika gärna kunna sägas om Israel.

Idag var han ju i Abu Dhabi, och på Rapport kunde man se Bush tala och det lät faktiskt som om det kunde handla om Israel. Visst inte allt kanske: men så här lät det delvis idag när han höll ett tal. (Det nedan är vad Rapport tog med.)

It seeks to intimidate its neighbors with ballistic missiles and bellicose rhetoric. And finally, it defies the United Nations and destabilizes the region by refusing to be open and transparent about its nuclear programs and ambitions.

I talets inledning felsurrar Bush om "en ny era", och inte vilken era som helst. Är det den som kommer efter Condi Rice´s födslosmärtor?

A great new era is unfolding before us. This new era is founded on the equality of all people before God. This new era is being built with the understanding that power is a trust that must be exercised with the consent of the governed -- and deliver equal justice under the law. And this new era offers hope for the millions across the Middle East who yearn for a future of peace and progress and opportunity.

Så nu vet vi. A great new era är på väg. Ha bara tålamod. Och be en bön eller nåt.
